Services

- the body is self-regulating and strives for a state of balance
- the body has an innate knowledge to heal itself through self-correcting mechanisms
- the power that made the body is the power that heals the body
- the body is more than just a collection of individual parts; all body systems and structures function together, influence one another, and act as an integrated whole.
BCST is based upon the understanding that the same innate intelligence that started our lives as one-cell beings is the same intelligence that keeps us alive and regulates all of our bodily functions. The body’s self-healing and self-regulating processes are continuously at work to maintain our health. Our bodies were designed to repair, support, and fight off any foreign invaders through our immune systems however, sometimes the body’s natural balance can be disrupted due to an accident, illness, physical strain, surgery, emotions, trauma, feelings of unsafety, and intense or prolonged tension and stress. When the body does not get the chance to heal properly or lacks the necessary time, energy, and resources to do so, our self-healing capability can become compromised. We may need some assistance to remove any physical or emotional interference that hinders the body’s ability to achieve balance and homeostasis. BCST works in harmony with the body’s innate intelligence, aiding the reestablishment of physiological processes and enabling the healing ability to resume it’s natural task.
A BCST practitioner is trained in creating safety in the body through relational touch, orienting to health and wellbeing, listening to health and its expressions, connecting to a rhythm of wholeness, being able to go beneath the autonomics, and recognizing that the body can get stuck in overwhelmed states. Tuning into the craniosacral rhythm – also referred to as the breathing of the nervous system, a BCST practitioner is able to get a glimpse of the workings of the entire body. The balance and fluctuation of this rhythm can provide information about a person’s health, symptoms, nervous system state, stress response, and any restrictions, inertia, or stagnation within the body. BCST provides a whole-body treatment, allowing the entire body to unwind and release. This facilitates the loosening of physical and emotional tension, eases pain, rebalances the nervous system, and restores self-regulation.

Shauna is very welcoming, kind and calm. Her presence is warm and touch is light and attentive. I look forward to our next session. I can't recommend this therapy as an added support to any life stage, this is sure to help.

Shauna is a truly gifted healer! She deeply intuitive in her approach and knows exactly what to work on. She makes you feel comfortable the minute you meet her and her sessions are truly amazing. I brought my daughter for a session to help with her stutter. That same night she spoke clear and with perfect ease. I am beyond grateful and look forward to many more sessions.

I’ve been seeing Shauna for a few months now, and I can't recommend her enough! Before each session, I often feel tension and stress in my body, but after, I always leave feeling so much lighter and more relaxed. She creates such a calm and nurturing environment. It’s clear she’s passionate about what she does and is dedicated to helping her clients heal.
